Mitten tree items that were donated to the Long Island Coalition of the Homeless (LICH) in Amityville.
The Long Island Division currently provides services to Veterans living in Nassau and Suffolk Counties, who are homeless or at risk for becoming homeless, as well as conducts homeless outreach at all MTA/LIRR stations. The LICH runs the Veterans Community Gardens onsite, which grows nutritious food and teaches veterans about healthy eating habits and environmental sustainability. Their Boutique provides clothing, housewares, shoes, and other essentials to Long Islanders. For more information please visit www.addressthehomeless.org or contact (631) 464 - 4314. Donations of new and gently used clothing and houseware items are welcome and volunteers are needed.
